In case you missed my last ASCP Webinar, here is a short recap and a Q&A session on some of what was covered.

Are you doing seasonal promotions for waxing? Or are you discounting?

You may be trying to avoid discounts, but it’s been slow.

So what exactly are you doing to promote your business, rather than discount it?

We often make the mistake of throwing in free products or services to clients already in our chair and ready to pay us.

Actively introducing your current clients to products you know will benefit them is a great way to sell retail.

Giving products and services away is setting yourself up for failure.

Utilize the 95/65 mindset. When a client comes in initially to see me, no matter what, they pay $95.

If they decide to commit to a standing appointment every 4 weeks, their price goes down to $65 for every time they return.

The minute they miss an appointment, or stop coming, but decide to come back again, the price goes back up to $95.

Promoting on Instagram is another easy way to stay in contact with your clientele/following.

Any time you have something you want to really promote, hashtag EVERYTHING.

How are you taking care of your current clients?

We often get so bogged down about getting new people, that we lose focus on taking care of the folks that have always put food on our table.

Planning your marketing for every single month based off of the season and the time is easy and effective.

  • February is Valentine’s Day
  • March is Spring Break
  • April is Easter (depending on the year)
  • May is Mother’s Day
  • June is Summer Break
  • July is 4th of July

…etc., etc., etc.

You have to keep in mind, you should not be discounting when your waxing and your spa season is high.

Promote combination services instead—giving you more income, and providing you with the opportunity to talk to your clients a little bit more.

Always do a client appreciation day before giving a discount when you’re slow!

  • Let every single person know what you do, what services you offer.
  • Set up a marketing calendar, and have a monthly plan
  • Be intentional about the money you want and need to make

Packages are a great way to boost bookings and get money in to sustain your business through a slower time.

What about Groupon?

Groupon people are locusts, moving from one Groupon business to the next.

We need to work on capitalizing them while they’re in our chair.

Doing your own Groupon promotion is a great way to give a discount and keep all the money.

Offering a super discounted package for a limited time with a time contingency on it is just as effective, and may work more to your benefit.

Sales and promotions are always planned, and should be a part of the marketing plan you have in place.

Continue to work hard at your business, marketing is every day.
